Spark Series Made Possible by OCAST and FAST

It's no secret that learning the nuances of SBIR funding often takes research and time. With award-winning experience, OK Catalyst recently launched #SparkSeries, a new initiative aimed at offering curated presentations about:

  • Identification of funding opportunities

  • Topic search

  • Proposal preparation & pre-review service

  • Proposal writing workshops

  • Registration assistance

  • Commercialization strategy services

  • Assistance with identifying strategic partners and building collaborations

  • Submission assistance

  • Award management assistance

OK Catalyst, in partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs, presented #SBIR101 on Oct. 28, 2021, via Facebook Live. In an effort to promote SBIR as a resource for early-stage startups, OK Catalyst provides guidance on the proposal submission process and business mentorship for entrepreneurs. Our new #SparkSeries is now an outlet for our community to connect one-on-one with #SBIRExperts.

Programs and initiatives like #SparkSeries are made possible by the Oklahoma Center for Advancement of Science Technology (OCAST) and SBA's Federal and State Technology (FAST) Partnership Program. With funding support from these government and state agencies, OK Catalyst is able to mentor, train and share our services for free to tomorrow's leaders of Oklahoma innovation.

OCAST is a state agency that is funded solely through state appropriations and is uniquely positioned to serve as the bridge between research activities and business needs. Through its network of strategic partnerships, like OK CAtalyst, OCAST creates a continuum of services that enables and accelerates the transition of ideas from the laboratory to the market.

The Federal and State Technology (FAST) Partnership Program provides funding to organizations to execute state/regional programs that increase the number of SBIR/STTR proposals leading to an increase in the number of SBIR/STTR awards from women, socially/economically disadvantaged individuals, and small businesses in underrepresented areas - typically rural states.
